Reference Geometry

Reference Geometry can be used for alignments, constraints, mesh sketches, cross sections, splits, cuts and a variety of other commands. It is usually easier to make polygon selections to extract geometry when the model has been segmented into regions.
Regions

Note that only a mesh object can be segmented into regions. Regions are not needed for all workflows, although some tools like Solid Primitive will only accept a region group. In general, utilizing regions will save time on selection compared to manual polygon selection. Regions can also help visualize the curvature of a part.
